Court Directory
The Court Directory will give you the names and addresses of all
the courts, judges, and court clerks in the State of Maine. It is from the Court website.
Interactive Court Forms
The interactive court forms are from the Pine Tree Legal Assistance website. The forms page has
blank forms you can print out and prepare by hand or on a typewriter, and interactive forms you can
fill out on line and then print. Some of the forms are "self-calculating" They will do some of the math
that the form asks for.
These forms are .pdf (portable document format) files. You will need Adobe Acrobat
Reader on your computer to use them. Most computers and web browsers have Acrobat Reader. If yours doesn't, you
can download it for free from the Adobe website. Instructions are on the forms page.
Schedule of Court Fees
The schedule of court fees tells what the filing fees and other court fees are for different
kinds of cases. Low income people can often have the court waive the fees. Look in the HelpMeLaw library,
in the Miscellaneous section under "Waiver of Court Fees"
A Guide to Small Claims Proceedings
The Guide to Small Claims Proceedings is taken from a
pamphlet prepared by the Courts. It is pretty easy to use on line. You can
jump easily from chapter to chapter and back to the table of contents.
